A Type III Barricade for Longer-Term Closures
A Type III barricade uses three horizontal rails to close a roadway or block off a work area. MUTCD Type III barricades have rails 4 ft wide and 8 to 12 inches high, with the top of the highest rail at least 5 ft above the ground. Because they stay in one place for a long time, they need sturdier construction than a Type I or II barricade.
Reflective Rails for Day and Night Visibility
The three 4′ x 8″ rails carry alternating orange and white reflective sheeting. Comparable barricades come with Engineer Grade or High Intensity sheeting, applied to one or both sides. Confirm the grade and sides for your SKU, since that drives both the price and where the barricade can be used.
Steel Frame With Quick Assembly
The frame is two 63″ uprights and two feet, and comparable kits use galvanized steel angle iron for both. The uprights pull out of the feet quickly for short-term setups or leave in place for longer ones. Uprights are pre-drilled for the rails and for two warning lights, and all mounting hardware is included. Replacing a damaged rail or foot doesn’t mean replacing the whole barricade.
Made for Warning Lights
Comparable 4 ft barricades accept two flashing lights, which matters for nighttime closures and low-visibility conditions.
